Card workflows

Subtasks and reactions

Open a card and add a titled item under Subtasks. Check it when finished, rename it, or remove it. The card shows completed and total items. Completing every subtask leaves the card in its current list.

Use a reaction beneath a comment to acknowledge it. Click the same reaction again to remove yours. Reactions update the count without sending a new comment notification.

Right-click a card and choose Move to list to move it to the end of another list on the same board.

Type # followed by a title or card reference in a card description or note. Choose a result with the arrow keys and Enter, or click it. Press Escape to dismiss the suggestions. Markdown headings such as # Heading keep working.

Hover over or focus an internal card link to preview its title, list, priority, due date, and assignees. You must have access to the linked card to see its preview.

Cards receive references such as PROJ-142, numbered across the project's boards. Existing cards receive references when the database is upgraded. The card header has separate buttons to copy its reference and its stable link. Stable /c/{cardId} links keep working when project keys change or cards move between lists. References already assigned to cards keep their original prefix.

Attachments and screenshots

When Card attachments is enabled for your account, the card has an Attachments section. Choose a file, drop a file into that section, or paste a screenshot while the card is open. Each card supports up to 20 files, up to 5 MB each. An unsuccessful upload keeps the file available for retry.

The attachment list requires authenticated card access and the account feature flag. It is not included on public board shares. Uploading and removing attachments requires permission to update the card. Direct file URLs are public CDN links that anyone with the link can open.

Administrators enable the account flag under Admin → Users → user → Feature flags. Attachments reuse the existing avatar storage and CDN configuration: R2_BUCKET_NAME, R2_PUBLIC_URL, and the existing R2 credentials. No additional bucket setup is required. The custom app server removes detached files and abandoned uploads in the background.

Reminders and notification preferences

Open Settings → Notifications to choose assignment, comment, mention, and shared-note notifications. Due-date reminders are off by default. Enable them to receive reminders for cards assigned to you, either one day before, one hour before, or at the due time.

Each assigned card and due date generates one reminder. Changing the due date permits another reminder. The server checks every minute and catches up on missed reminders for 24 hours. These are in-app notifications; desktop notification delivery follows the desktop app's existing notification settings. The server must be running for reminders to be generated.

Keyboard and project controls

Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K) to create a card or note. Select the destination list or project, then enter a title. With a card open, the palette also offers Assign to me and priority changes when your role permits them. Creating a note in the desktop app opens its web editor.

Project name, key, and description are edited through the project's Settings page. The projects view remembers collapsed groups for the current account and organization on that device.
